Updating my ipod classic
The final generation of the i Pod classic was introduced in September 2009, and while the product's demise was rumored a number of times over the years, the product lasted a full five years with silver and black color options at a 9 price point before being discontinued.Back in early 2011, Toshiba introduced a 220 GB 1.8-inch hard drive that could have allowed Apple to increase the capacity of the i Pod classic, and tightening supplies very soon after led to speculation that the device could see an update or discontinuation. Most of my songs are from my old computer which I now longer have, so I no longer have the songs in i Tunes. If I try to back up my files will it only do the ones from my current i Tunes and delete the rest? Upgrading i OS should leave the files that are on the device in the exact same condition as it was before.I recently bought a new HP computer with Windows 8 installed.I purchased a song on Itunes and when I went to sync the new song to my Ipod, my new computer is not seeing my Ipod at all and can't sync new song onto the Ipod at all.The final version of the i Pod classic contained a 160 GB traditional hard drive, offering significantly more capacity than the 64 GB of flash memory found in the high-end i Pod touch.
That makes sense; fewer i Pods are sold these days and new models come out less frequently, so there are fewer changes to make. After it's been restored, then you can update the operating system. If you need to do this, sync your i Pod with i Tunes first to create a backup of all your data. But any time it does release an i Pod software update, you should install it.These software updates include bug fixes, support for new features and the latest versions of mac OS and Windows, and other improvements. You can update i OS devices like the i Phone or i Pad wirelessly over the Internet. The i Pod operating system can only be updated using i Tunes.
